What is the difference between a newsgroup downloader like Binary Vortex and a simple newsreader? Binary Vortex is designed to pull down binary files (or attachments) from usenet newsgroups rapidly and without user intervention. For example, you can let Vortex run overnight and pull down literally tens of thousands of pictures or other binary attachments. Vortex is designed to be extremely simple to use — all you really need to do is to enter your news server account information, pick the newsgroups you want to download, and then click the “start” button. It’s as simple as that!
